RATINGS

100The Wine Advocate

...one of the greatest vintages of recent years... daring passion to reveal layers of plush but focused dark plum & cassis fruit that just seem to flow & flow on the never-ending finish. It is a multifaceted, multidimensional masterpiece...

*****Michael Broadbent

Spectacular and indescribable...marvellous ripe softness, yet very spicy...

99Burghound.com

Everything that I saw from cask made it into bottle intact and words remain inadequate to describe just how good this wine is...

97Wine Spectator

...full-bodied full-throttle...concentraed and packed with ripe tannins and bright acidity...

97Stephen Tanzer

...pure nose of raspberry, strawberry, minerals, oriental spices and sexy oak. Superripe, lush and highly concentrated...

19Jancis Robinson

...Very massive wine that's still brooding and probably needs a few more years to show its best but it's certainly impressive! Great throat warming stuff with real structure and vibrato fruit in the middle. Not to be ignored!

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanee, La Tache

La Tache is a 14.4-acre Grand Cru monopole in the Cote de Nuits owned exclusively by Domaine de la Romanee-Conti. Until 1932 La Tache was a much smaller vineyard, but in that year the government allowed Domaine de la Romanee-Conti to buy the adjacent 11-acre Les Gaudichots vineyard. La Tache’s elevation is 255 to 300 meters and it has several kinds of soil including large amounts of limestone and clay.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, Grand Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
