RATINGS

98Robert M. Parker Jr.

Blueberry and blackberry fruit, wet gravel, crushed-rock notes and white flowers are followed by a full-bodied, elegant wine. This is a stunner with sweet tannin that is beautifully, rich full and long.

98Jeb Dunnuck

...another sensational wine from winemaker Mike Smith. Offering an undeniably Graves-like smoked earth and gravelly mineral-like quality (wines from this vineyard often remind me of older vintages of La Mission Haut-Brion) as well as powerful blackcurrant, black cherry, chocolate, Asian spice, and graphite aromas and flavors, this stunner is full-bodied, deep, opulent, and concentrated on the palate... ...will continue blowing people’s minds for another 20-25 years or more. (March 2020)

92Vinous / IWC

Sweet floral and spice notes meld into a core of dark red fruit. Supple and open-knit, the 2013 offers plenty of near and medium-term appeal along with silkiness that is perhaps the single most specific signature of Dr. Crane Cabernets.

91Wine Spectator

A robust yet charming effort, with dark berry, mocha, licorice, cedary oak, dried herb and graphite flavors. Turns supple and caressing midpalate before the tannins weigh in.
