94Vinous / IWC

...depth of the fruit and overall sense of pliancy add to an impression of exuberance that is hard to resist...above all else a wine of textural radiance and pure beauty. --

...medium-bodied flavors brim with dry extract before terminating in a very firm but not hard green tea-inflected finish that delivers excellent length and impressive depth.

92The Wine Advocate

The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, a dash of white pepper on the tip of the tongue and a beautifully poised, elegant finish. This is an Echézeaux determined to be above its station. Wonderful.

92+ Stephen Tanzer

Sexy aroma of raspberry, orange blossom, Oriental spices, minerals, mulch and lightly vegetal herbs. Juicy, spicy and sharply delineated...

17.5Jancis Robinson

Quite ample palate entry and then freshness and sweetness in combination. Chewy finish...Lift; and kicks it heels. Still pretty exciting on the nose in the empty glass.

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits, Flagey-Echezeaux, Echezeaux

Echezeaux is a 93-acre Grand Cru vineyard on the southern edge of the Cote de Nuits. It up the slope from Clos de Vougeot and Grands Echezeaux and is one of the largest grand crus in Burgundy. The vineyard varies in elevation from 250 to 300 meters, and the terroir includes significant clay as well as thin, rocky soil. The largest proprietors are Domaine de la Romanee Conti, with 11.68 acres; Mongeard-Mugneret with 6.25 acres, and Emmanuel-Rouget, with 3.58 acres. Echezeaux produces red wine.

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, Grand Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
