RATINGS

95Wine Spectator

...freshness and depth with a supple, almost creamy texture. Lemon-lime, Granny Smith apple, tart green plum and oyster shell flavors converge as this dovetails on the long, chalky finish. Accents of fresh herbs and flowers linger.

95Wine Enthusiast

...impressive and richly dense wine. It has the crispness of the vintage...minerality and ripe fruit flavors that contrast apricot and citrus.

94+ Vinous / IWC

Smoky silex and wet stone aromas are complicated by piquant citrus high notes and a subtle yeasty element. Large-scaled, intense and structured, showing a distinctly crisp character for its richness thanks to penetrating lemony acidity.

93The Wine Advocate

...detailed and with attractive flint aromas. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with pleasant salinity, a subtle marine note becoming more palpable as it broadens out on the satisfying, strikingly saline finish.

16.5+ Jancis Robinson

REGION

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Les Clos

Les Clos is a 61-acre Grand Cru vineyard in the appellation of Chablis, at the northwestern tip of Burgundy. With rocky soil, good drainage, and a southerly orientation, the vineyard is generally the most acclaimed of the Chablis Grand Crus. The principal landholders are Fevre with 10.38 acres; J. Moreau, with 9.01 acres; and C. Moreau, with 9 acres. Other notable producers with parcels in Les Clos are Francois Raveneau, Louis Pinson, Joseph Drouhin and Rene Dauvissat. Like all the Chablis vineyards, it is planted exclusively to Chardonnay.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, Chablis Grand Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
