...well-defined bouquet. Dark cherries mingle with iodine and light pressed flower aromas, just a touch of graphite underneath....palate is medium-bodied with a concentrated opening, layers of black cherry and bilberry fruit with a fair lacquer of new oak. Fine balance, a pinch of cracked black pepper and thyme emerge towards the finish.
Moderate wood sets off spicier aromas of violet, various dark berries and a whiff of forest floor. There is excellent power and evident minerality to the palate coating middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a focused, muscular and strikingly long finish.
High-toned and really very sweet and fresh. Pure pleasure! Very accessible for a wine that’s really a grand cru.
