RATINGS

99Robert M. Parker Jr.

...a beautiful nose of sweet crème de cassis, a touch of background oak, spice box, cedarwood, black cherries & a hint of spring flowers... Everything is seamlessly crafted in this beauty & the vintage’s abundant richness is well-displayed.

98James Suckling

Fabulous purity & clarity of fruit. Blackcurrants, blackberries & violets. Full body, big soft tannins and a chocolate, hazelnut & dark fruit... Ripe & velvety finish. Better in 2020 but delicious to drink now. Wonderful Dominus.

97+ Vinous / IWC

A towering, majestic wine... a real stunner. Opulent & intense, yet backed up by a classic expression of acidity & tannin... voluptuous Cabernet shows off its irresistible sexy personality. Expressive floral notes add lift on the finish.

95Wine Enthusiast

... this estate-crafted blend exudes elegance, etching out silos of herb, lavender, cedar and earth around savory-laced texture. A powerful concentration of dark chocolate appears on the lengthy finish...

94Wine Spectator

Deftly balanced, with an enticing mix of gravelly, loamy earth, dried berry, cedar and cigar box, all rich and extracted. Ends with raw, assertive tannins.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Yountville

Yountville AVA is just west of Stags Leap and north of Oak Knoll. It is centered around the town of Yountville, named for George Yountville, who planted the area’s first vineyard in 1836. The district received appellation status in 1999 and it includes 4,000 vineyard acres. It is known for tannic Cabernet Sauvignon that has a reputation for aging well. Dominus Estate, formerly Napanook Vineyard, is one of the most prestigious producers in Yountville, and in all of Napa Valley.
