RATINGS

94+ Vinous / IWC

...Rich, voluptuous and full-throttle, the 2015 exudes depth and volume. Red cherry, plum, crushed leaves and spice infuse this racy, flamboyantly ripe Pinot. All the elements are impeccably balanced. The 100% whole clusters are nearly buried, but they add just enough aromatic lift and freshness to temper the wine's racier leanings...

92Burghound.com

A slightly riper nose is composed by notes of plum, violet, sandalwood, anise and Asian-style spiced tea. There is more volume, power and mid-palate concentration to the sappy and delicious medium-bodied flavors that coat the mouth on the serious, balanced and clearly built-to-age finale...

...Some lean, sinewy notes on the nose. Racy with apparent bone dry, elegant fruit. Less rich than the McDougall Ranch. Very cool and low key and rather suave and laconic. Love the minerally finish!

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
