RATINGS

90-92Burghound.com

A shy nose requires aggressive swirling to coax the aromas of red and dark raspberry, earth and violet scents to reveal themselves. The delicious and vibrant medium weight flavors are generously proportioned while retaining good cut and punch, all wrapped in a sappy, complex and palate soaking finish.

16.5+ Jancis Robinson

Ripe and rich on the nose. Dark cherries and sweet plums with a little baked vanilla. Great intensity on the palate. Creamy red fruit. Surprising richness but the tannins come in slightly angular and firm. Chalky finish, where the fruit lingers longer than expected.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Beaune, Les Boucherottes

Les Boucherottes is a 22-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the appellation of Beaune, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. It is on the southern edge of the appellation, on a gentle slope that faces east. It is one of Beaune’s 44 vineyards that is either partly or entirely Premier Cru. Beaune has no Grand Cru.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
