Concentrated, almost oily in texture and evoking stone notes and strong sense of place, this just keeps unfolding its complex flavors across the palate. Terific harmony and balance, along with a vibrant structure and finesse.
Pure fruit aromas of very ripe pear, peach, honeysuckle and lovely green fruit are nicely complemented by a very subtle hint of oak spice that merges seamlessly into powerful yet exquisitely delineated, strongly mineral laden flavors.
Spices, minerals, ginger, and pears can be discerned in the aromatics of the 2002 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche. Harvested at 14.1% natural potential alcohol, it is a deep, medium-bodied, sappy wine with an admirably long finish.
