RATINGS

98Wine Enthusiast

...vibrant in lemon peel and tangerine. Fresh, focused and complex in structure, it presents a richness of Asian pear and spiced oak that develops as it opens on the midpalate.

97The Wine Advocate

It unfolds scents of lemon oil, Greek yogurt, petrichor, flint and underlying wafts of cheese rind as it spends time in the glass... Its concentrated citrus and stony character creates a shimmery impression that energizes the long finish and adds a touch of magic to this wine.

95Wine Spectator

Powerful and sleek up front, showing Honeycrisp apple, lemon blossom, Asian pear and Sumo orange flavors that are bright, fresh and heightened by crisp acidity. Offers sea salt, white tea and nutmeg details on the finish, with a touch of fresh lemon thyme for aromatic flair.

95Jeb Dunnuck

...offers inviting notes of ripe pear, toasted brioche, and flinty reduction. The palate is structured and fresh, with melon, stone fruits, and delicate baking spice.

90Vinous / IWC

17Jancis Robinson

Sweet, creamy nose and then notable citrus acidity on the palate. Real lift... Very well constructed.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Carneros

Carneros AVA, also known as Los Carneros, is at the southern end of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys at the top of the San Francisco Bay. The 8,000 vineyard acres are mostly planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, both of which thrive in the district’s cool, marine climate. Carneros became an AVA in 1983 and it has attracted foreign wine companies along with local producers. It has been especially appealing to European producers of sparkling wines including the giant Spanish cava producers Codorniu and Frexinet, and the French Champagne house Taittinger. Codorniu in Carneros is called Artesa, and Frexinet’s Carneros brand is Gloria Ferrer. Taittinger calls its Carneros winery Domaine Carneros. The European producers also make still wines in Carneros.

TYPE
