RATINGS

96+ The Wine Advocate

...nose of stone, white mushroom, dried hay and soft yellow fruits with notes of hazelnut, spring honey and orange blossom. Medium-bodied with great intensity in the mouth, it has wonderful layers of nutty/honeyed fruit, tangy acidity and a layered, energetic finish.

93James Suckling

This has a beautifully composed nose with fresh lemons, yellow grapefruit and white peaches, as well as gently chalky and fresh, nutty complexity. The palate has a succulent, juicy and crisp feel with sleek pears and melon and a gentle, acacia-like, herbal edge.

92Wine Spectator

Crunchy and pure-tasting, with concentrated, fresh-cut apple, melon and dried pear flavors, supported by firm acidity. Citrus zest and spice notes show on the glistening finish, revealing some dried herbal hints.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
