RATINGS

97Wine Enthusiast

Red and black cherry, cassis and a beautiful back note of rose, orange and licorice play along the nose and palate of this spectacular, full-bodied and complex wine. Expansively rich and offering depth and breadth...holds on to a mighty structure...

93Robert M. Parker Jr.

...mulberry, cranberry and black cherry fruit, a solid core of intensity, moderate tannin, and a medium to full-bodied finish...

92Vinous / IWC

Super-ripe black cherry, crème de cassis, leather, earthiness, smoke, spice and licorice... Bold, succulent and racy to the core...exudes richness to match its flashy, upfront personality... All the elements fall into place in this striking, effortless Cabernet Sauvignon.

91Jeb Dunnuck

...perfumed, nuanced, elegant style to go with notions of underbrush, blackberries, dried herbs, cedar wood, and potpourri. Medium to full-bodied, nuanced and elegant, with present...sweet tannin...already impossible to resist...

90Wine Spectator

Rich, juicy blackberry, currant and plum flavors join black licorice, cedar and spice notes before tightening up. Ends with chewy tannins that dominate.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Oak Knoll

Oak Knoll AVA is one of Napa Valley’s newest appellations, having received that status in 2004. Located on the southern end of Napa Valley, the appellation is close to San Pablo Bay and therefore relatively cool. Of the 8,300 acres within the appellation, 4,150 are vineyards. The principal grapes grown are Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Riesling. Locals like to call Oak Knoll “the sweet spot” thanks to its location between the San Pablo Bay and its maritime climate and the much hotter climate of Napa Valley’s floor.

TYPE

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
