...has a deep garnet-purple color and comes bounding out of the glass with notes of chocolate-covered cherries, mulberries, ripe blueberries and cassis with wafts of lilacs and camphor. Full-bodied, the palate has exquisitely ripe tannins and bold freshness supporting the tightly wound black fruit layers, finishing long and minerally.
Exotic in profile, with a mix of well-steeped plum, boysenberry, fig and mulberry fruit flavors that all tumble through together, plus singed alder and apple wood notes and a streak of licorice root. Frankly toasted on the finish but has a racy element, thanks to ample acidity for balance. A big wine.
