RATINGS

94The Wine Advocate

The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity. This has wonderful harmony, a dash of nutmeg and spice that emerges toward the finish and a very persistent aftertaste that will not go away (not that you want it to).

92Stephen Tanzer

...scents of minerals, mint and dusty stone, plus a whiff of pineapple in the background. A dense, sappy premier cru with noteworthy solidity and surprising acidity... Has a sweetness to it, as well as strong underlying minerality...

92Burghound.com

...there is ample mineral reduction character present on the elegant, pure and airy aromas of pear, apple and white flowers that are trimmed in just enough wood...There is excellent punch and intensity to the more precise middle weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract while exhibiting a gorgeously persistent finish...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Montee de Tonnerre

Montee de Tonnerre is a 15-acre Premier Cru parcel just east of the village of Chablis and just south of the Grand Crus. Montee de Tonnerre includes the important climats of Chapelot, Les Chapelots, Pied d’Aloup and Coted de Brechain. Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that “in blind tastings, this microparcel is often judged to be a Grand Cru. It is regrettable that its reputation is not better known…” The soil is a mixture of limestone, clay and fossilized oyster shells.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, Chablis Premier Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
