RATINGS

97James Suckling

A fresh, floral nose with ripe red cherries, strawberries and vanilla. Full body and rounded, velvety tannins... Mineral-driven, forward-moving energy that completely takes hold of you. Just so alive and exciting. Fantastic.

97Jeb Dunnuck

...captivating bouquet of black raspberries, redcurrants, scorched earth, graphite, and just a beautiful sense of crushed rock-like minerality. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it’s flawlessly balanced and has a great mid-palate, building, ripe, polished tannins, and a juicy sense of acidity that keeps you salivating on the finish.

96Wine Spectator

Intense and pure-tasting...filled with crunchy acidity to the well-knit slate, red berry and wild spice flavors. The lively finish is backed by crisp tannins and plenty of rich forest floor and floral notes.

96Vinous / IWC

Inky red/purplish berry fruit, lavender, rose petal. Soils here are mostly Goldridge with a bit of clay, which adds breadth and richness.

94-96The Wine Advocate

...lush blue and black fruits on the nose with accents of baking spice and earth. Medium-bodied, the palate's powerful fruit is delivered in a surprisingly fresh, silken frame...finishes very long...

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
