RATINGS

95Jeb Dunnuck

...smoking good wine...textbook Sonoma Coast notes of lively red berry fruit intermixed with notes of white flowers and salty minerality. With medium-bodied richness on the palate, it has a tight, vibrant mouthfeel, building yet beautifully ripe tannins, a solid spine of acidity, and a gorgeous finish.

92Wine Spectator

...mocha-rich dark plum and cherry tart flavors that show hints of white pepper and accents of sassafras, followed by cooking spice notes on the finish.

92Wine Enthusiast

Juicy, rich and deeply layered in red fruit, this wine has a lightness of baking spice and oak tones that complement an undercurrent of forest floor...silky smooth and lasting on the finish.

91James Suckling

Aromas of currants, wild strawberries, dried flowers, dried orange and dark chocolate. It’s medium-bodied with sleek tannins. Juicy and concentrated with a creamy texture and lively acidity bringing energy and freshness. Flavorful finish.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
