RATINGS

92The Wine Advocate

...aromas of strawberries, raspberries and red plums that are framed by a subtle touch of oak...open and expressive, with an ample core of fruit framed by supple tannins and juicy acids.

92-94Vinous / IWC

...pretty, floral bouquet that opens with red cherries and wild strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very linear and taut but gaining weight towards the finely tuned, mineral-driven finish. Excellent.

92-93James Suckling

Rich and elegant with quite chalky character and crisp acidity, the finish really long and fine-grained.

16.5+ Jancis Robinson

Beautifully scented with crunchy red-cherry fruit. Tangy and already silky in texture with just a bit of chalkiness from the limestone.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Pommard, Les Pezerolles

Les Pezerolles is a 15-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Pommard appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Since there are no Grand Crus in Pommard, the Premier Crus have special importance. Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that “Pommard at its best is the fullest wine made in the Cote de Beaune.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
