RATINGS

93Wine Enthusiast

Owned by Ken and Karen Wright, Savoya is planted on ancient marine sedimentary soil. Bold cherry fruit carries a streak of salinity, that tastes like a shake of salt and pepper around tart pomegranate fruit. It's tangy and lightly herbal, with classic structure and a clear path to aging over a decade or longer.

90The Wine Advocate

The 2014 Pinot Noir Savoya Vineyard comes from southeast facing vines planted in 1999. It has fine delineation on the nose, very good terroir expression with a light oyster shell influence. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, a little ferrous in style with edgy red and black fruit towards the finish. This is a well-crafted Pinot Noir with good structure and it should drink well over the next decade, possibly longer.

90Wine Spectator

Offers firm tannins, with crisp acidity supporting the cherry, raspberry and spice flavors as they focus into a sharp finish. Needs time to gain flesh. Best after 2018. 1,175 cases made.
