RATINGS

94The Wine Advocate

...alluring scents of wild berry preserves, aniseed, charcuterie and dark spices. The medium-bodied palate is seamless and intense, with dark fruit character and a very long, very spicy finish.

94Wine Spectator

Expressive and elegantly structured, with generous raspberry and strawberry flavors and fresh violet notes that linger on a long, supple finish.

94James Suckling

...elegant pinot with briary berry and cherry aromas that lead to a fresh and fine palate. Silky tannins coax red-fruit flavors into the fresh, refined finish.

94Jeb Dunnuck

...floral with rose petal, pure raspberry, and white pepper. The palate is dry, with energy and great structure, and the fruit is dry and crunchy with pomegranate, dried flowers, and orange peel.

93Vinous / IWC

Intense red and blue fruit, floral and spice notes on the incisive nose, along with hints of cola and smoky minerals. Juicy and precise in the mouth, offering sappy raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors and a bright, spicy topnote. Smoothly plays power off delicacy and finishes long and silky, with polished tannins framing repeating red fruit and floral notes.

92Wine Enthusiast

...delivers light, elegant flavors of pomegranate, strawberry and cranberry, along with tannins that show the drying flavors of tea...harmonic chord through the trailing finish.

17Jancis Robinson

Fruitily perfumed – really pretty seductive, true, flattering Pinot Noir aromas. Spicy but not sweet and with lovely freshness and purity. There are some fine tannins but it's already drinking very well. A real charmer. Delicate but completely satisfying. Very appetising.

REGION

United States, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge

Willamette Valley AVA was established in 1983, and it is the oldest appellation in Oregon. Oregon’s modern wine industry began in the Willamette Valley in the 1960s when artists, vagabond winemakers, and U.C. Davis oenology graduates looking for new territory started their own, small, off-the-grid wineries. The appellation is the state’s largest, and it extends 175 miles from Columbia River on the Washington/Oregon border to just south of Eugene, near central Oregon. The Willamette River runs through the area, helping to give the appellation a mild year-round climate. There are six smaller sub-appellations within this AVA, but altogether the Willamette Valley has the largest concentration of wineries in Oregon, as well as the majority of the state’s most famous producers. Pinot Noir is king here, followed by Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling. To most admirers of Oregon Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley offers the most distinctive wine choices in the state.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
