RATINGS

94Wine Enthusiast

This luscious, ripe wine is both balanced and generous. Acidity comes from the freshness of the vintage, bringing out fruitiness to complement the tannins.

93Vinous / IWC

Dark and rich with tons of nuance...super expressive... Wild cherry, plum, dried flowers, mint, tobacco and smoke are all laced together in this pretty, inviting Margaux.

92James Suckling

...compact fruit and seamless tannins that show length and beauty. Medium to full body. Lovely finish.

91Wine Spectator

Features alluring black cherry and plum puree flavors gliding through, inlaid with subtle alder, lilac and black tea notes. Perfumy and velvety, with a suave finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

90-93Jeb Dunnuck

...an outstanding wine. Giving up lots of black fruits, charcoal, and graphite notes...medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and with solid ripeness and depth...impressive effort...

REGION

France, Bordeaux, Margaux

Margaux is one of Bordeaux’s most famous appellations and also one of its largest, with about 3,400 acres of vineyards. Located on the Left Bank of the Gironde River, Margaux has the greatest number of classified-growth châteaux (or crus classé) according to the 1855 classification. There are twenty-one crus classé, including the most famous estate, the first growth Château Margaux. The Margaux appellation includes vineyards around the village of Margaux and the villages of Arsac, Cantenac, d’Issan, Labarde and Soussans. Wines from the best Margaux châteaux and vintages are prized for their perfumey fragrance and elegant, silky mouthfeel. Margaux wines are predominately Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
