There's plenty of ripe black cherry, plum and chocolate notes in this red, but also a lashing of new oak. In the end it's pretty well-balanced, with a sweet fruit finish. A modern style.

Floral hints combine with earth and intense black fruits and lead to stunningly pure, detailed and focused flavors that are powerful and robust. This is quite masculine in character with length to burn...

Aux Malconsorts is an 14.6-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Vosne-Romanee appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Nuits. It is on the appellation’s southern boundary with Nuits-Saints-Georges. The vineyard abuts La Tache, which is just to the north and has similar soil composition. Burgundy writer Clive Coates notes that Aux Malconsorts “can have flair, fat, finesse and a fine perfume.”
