RATINGS

96Jeb Dunnuck

...vibrant, pure, concentrated beauty that has loads of white flowers, citrus, and salty minerality...medium to full body, bright acidity, and terrific balance, it has a touch of Chablis-like character...beautiful complete Chardonnay...

95+ The Wine Advocate

Pow!...gregarious with loads of melon, guava, peach and buttery touches plus lemon curd, pastry crust and caramel hints. Medium to full-bodied, it packs in a wallop of flavor layers—from luscious ripe fruits to bakery and mineral notes—framed by absolutely mouthwatering acidity and phenolic texture and finishing very long with amazing energy.

95Vinous / IWC

Perfumed aromatics make a strong opening statement; white flowers, mint and white peach are all beautifully lifted. Refined and elegant to its core...fabulous wine.

95Wine Enthusiast

...knockout, standout wine, juicy and exotic in spicy lemongrass, lime and voluptuous intensity. Richly layered, it has a backbone of fresh acidity that keeps it intriguingly fresh and classically structured...supremely delicious.

94Wine Spectator

...firm, mineral-filled...backed by powerful acidity, featuring rich toasty notes to the baked apple and dried pear flavors, with savory touches. Buttery accents emerge on the finish.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Russian River Valley

Russian River Valley AVA is named for the river that meanders from Mendocino County in the north until it finally runs into the Pacific Ocean north of San Francisco. The AVA is cool thanks to its proximity to the northern California coast and the river, and grape growers must learn to deal with regular fog. Nevertheless in recent decades the AVA has become one of the best in the state, meaning that its wines often earn excellent reviews and have considerable cachet. The AVA status was awarded in 1983 and today the appellation has 15,000 vineyard acres. Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape though Pinot Noir has also been very successful in recent decades. Russian River Valley Pinot Noir are known for being rich, lush and filled with concentrated fruit and berry flavors. Russian River Pinot Noirs are today considered some of the best domestic Pinot Noirs.
