RATINGS

96Jeb Dunnuck

...a Domaine de Marcoux-like perfume of kirsch liqueur, white flowers, melted licorice, and dried flowers. Exuberant, full-bodied, and incredibly sexy on the palate, it's another rockingly singular, sexy Grenache...

94Vinous / IWC

Ripe, smoke-tinged cherry, blueberry and incense aromas show excellent clarity, and a peppery note adds spicy lift. Juicy and broad on the palate, offering lush yet surprisingly lively red and blue fruit preserve, vanilla and floral pastille flavors and a touch of star anise. Shows impressive energy on the broad, seamless, extremely long finish, which is framed by supple, even tannins...impressive, highly expressive wine...

94Wine Enthusiast

...starts with aromas of concentrated black plum, licorice, clove and roasted meats. It's soft and luxurious on the palate, with rich, thick flavors of black cherry, oozing caramel, toasted tobacco and root-beer spice.

TYPE

Red Wine, Grenache

One of the most popular red varieties planted, it ripens late and prefers hot dry climates. It probably originated in Spain, where it is still widely grown. Grenache is best known for its use in Southern Rhone wines, including those of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
