RATINGS

98The Wine Advocate

...begins with singular touches of seaweed and candle smoke that give way to preserved citrus, white peaches, beeswax and lush jasmine perfume. The palate is dynamic, with a crescendo of honeyed fruits, gently tangy acidity and shimmery mineral character uplifting the finish. It's Vine Hill Vineyard with the volume turned up!

96Wine Spectator

Honey-soaked dried pineapple, Honeycrisp apple and lemon curd flavors are intense and juicy on a sleek, mouthwatering frame, with hints of toasted brioche and salted butter on the long finish.

96Jeb Dunnuck

From a 16-acre site in the Russian River, the 2019 Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard is unquestionably another beautiful wine in the lineup. Lots of honeyed lemon, caramelized apple, brioche, and salty minerality all define the nose of this beauty, and it shows the more rounded, supple, yet seamless style of the vintage beautifully while holding onto a vibrant spine of acidity...

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Russian River Valley

Russian River Valley AVA is named for the river that meanders from Mendocino County in the north until it finally runs into the Pacific Ocean north of San Francisco. The AVA is cool thanks to its proximity to the northern California coast and the river, and grape growers must learn to deal with regular fog. Nevertheless in recent decades the AVA has become one of the best in the state, meaning that its wines often earn excellent reviews and have considerable cachet. The AVA status was awarded in 1983 and today the appellation has 15,000 vineyard acres. Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape though Pinot Noir has also been very successful in recent decades. Russian River Valley Pinot Noir are known for being rich, lush and filled with concentrated fruit and berry flavors. Russian River Pinot Noirs are today considered some of the best domestic Pinot Noirs.
