RATINGS

98Robert M. Parker Jr.

...it is an expansive, savory, opulent wine with a full-bodied mouthfeel, silky tannins, and sensational concentration. A legend in the making...

Easily the greatest Dominus in memory... lacks for nothing in complexity and sheer deliciousness. Tantalizes with blackberry tart, cherry, carob bean and a Pinot Noir-esque cola-rhubarb richness that retreats behind rich tannins...

92-95Stephen Tanzer

Highly complex nose melds black cherry, dark berries, menthol and licorice; less floral today than the 2006 but nicely precise nonetheless. Sweet, suave and perfumed in the mouth...

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Yountville

Yountville AVA is just west of Stags Leap and north of Oak Knoll. It is centered around the town of Yountville, named for George Yountville, who planted the area’s first vineyard in 1836. The district received appellation status in 1999 and it includes 4,000 vineyard acres. It is known for tannic Cabernet Sauvignon that has a reputation for aging well. Dominus Estate, formerly Napanook Vineyard, is one of the most prestigious producers in Yountville, and in all of Napa Valley.
