RATINGS

98Jeb Dunnuck

Another world-class Pinot Noir from Hobbs...remarkable finesse and elegance...gorgeously layered texture, medium to full body, and incredible aromatics of violets, plums, black cherries, and scorched earth...plenty of tannins, yet they’re ripe, polished, and silky, and this beauty just glides across the palate.

96+ Vinous / IWC

...plenty of the ripe red/purplish berry fruit it showed from barrel. The interplay of fruit intensity, aromatic depth and structure makes for a vivid, exceptionally beautiful bottle of wine.

95+ The Wine Advocate

...sings of lilacs, dark chocolate, cinnamon and Black forest cake with sparks of pomegranate, rhubarb, ceps and rose hip tea. Full-bodied, concentrated and decadently fruited in the mouth, it offers a firm yet velvety texture, finishing long, lively and refreshing.

94Wine Spectator

Dark and robust, centered on rich plum, blackberry, cherry and wild berry flavors that pick up a light touch of oak and fresh earth, ending with firm, ripe tannins.

93James Suckling

Intense aromas of rust and dark fruits, as well as pure fruit. Full and very layered. Full- bodied, very concentrated and dense. Juicy and fruit-forward.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
