RATINGS

97The Wine Advocate

...simply amazing with a level of intensity that is through the roof, strutting notes of lemon oil, candied ginger, pink grapefruit & orange blossom with touches of yuzu, brioche, green tea... simply a blockbuster & a delicious one at that.

95James Suckling

This has a fantastic linear and bright acidity with gorgeous cream, cooked apple and pear. Full body, tangy and minerally. Lovely and intense.

94Vinous / IWC

...unctuous and ample in the glass. Apricot pit, peach, vanillin and candied lemon peel are beautifully delineated. Sumptuous and layered...

93Wine Spectator

Beautifully crafted, sleek, rich and deftly proportioned, this offers a racy core, tilting toward spicy green notes and flavors of honeydew and pear. Finishes with a kiss of spicy, toasty oak that captures the essence of the wine.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Carneros

Carneros AVA, also known as Los Carneros, is at the southern end of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys at the top of the San Francisco Bay. The 8,000 vineyard acres are mostly planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, both of which thrive in the district’s cool, marine climate. Carneros became an AVA in 1983 and it has attracted foreign wine companies along with local producers. It has been especially appealing to European producers of sparkling wines including the giant Spanish cava producers Codorniu and Frexinet, and the French Champagne house Taittinger. Codorniu in Carneros is called Artesa, and Frexinet’s Carneros brand is Gloria Ferrer. Taittinger calls its Carneros winery Domaine Carneros. The European producers also make still wines in Carneros.

TYPE
