RATINGS

89-92Stephen Tanzer

Backward nose hints at pineapple and smoky reduction...a distinctly oily texture to the pineapple flavor.

17Jancis Robinson

Fine boned and lively. Lots of citrus notes and a hit of minerals - well balanced. Racy and lovely already. Quite open. Easy and not tense.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Beaune, Le Clos Des Mouches

Le Clos de Mouches is a 62-acre Premier Cru vineyard in Beaune, in Burgundy’s Cote d’Or. Though Beaune has no Grand Crus, it has 44 vineyards that are either entirely or partly Premier Cru. Le Clos de Mouches is located in the southern third of the appellation, and like many of its neighbors, it faces nearly due east.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, 1er (Premier) Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
