RATINGS

91-93The Wine Advocate

A broad, dense, chewy, layered wine, its fresh flavor profile is crammed with sweet blueberries, plums, and spices. It is admirably balanced, possessing the requisite fruit and backbone...

90Vinous / IWC

...robust full-bodied flavors that are no model of elegance but possess the muscle and power that one expects from a quality Vaucrains, all wrapped in a mouth coating and solidly long finish.

90-93Stephen Tanzer

Higher-pitched, more vibrant aromas of black raspberry and coffee. Tangy, sweet and very rich; deep and serious. Complicating note of tobacco. Finishes with granular tannins and ripe, slow-building flavors.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
