RATINGS

96Wine Spectator

Lean, intense and tightly wound, offering a core of lemon cake, apple and mineral wrapped in a veil of toasty oak. Vivid acidity cuts through, marshaling the long finish, where spice and mineral elements linger

93-95The Wine Advocate

Intense citrus lemon, freshly sliced pear, limestone and even a faint touch of peppermint. The palate is intense on the entry with more depth than the Bienvenue at this stage. There is a pinch of spice here, shaved ginger

93+ Stephen Tanzer

Offering musky, slightly reduced scents of very ripe peach and grilled nuts. Sweet, large-scaled and powerful but youthfully laid-back today... firm finishing flavors of pear and minerals titillate the retronasal passage.

93-96Burghound.com

Aromas of pear, white peach, apricot, acacia blossom and discreet menthol nuances. .....medium weight plus flavors that possess a hint of bitter lemon on the massively long finish.... In a word, brilliant.

At 30 acres, Batard-Montrachet is the largest of four Grand Crus and it is divided into nearly 30 individually owned parcels. Located just to the east of Le Montrachet, the soil of Batard-Montrachet is deeper and less thin.
