RATINGS

97+ Vinous / IWC

...unusually powerful and structured. Huge, searing tannins and super-expressive, bright acidity both are a prominent today...A huge finish totally drenched with saline notes is breathtaking...

96The Wine Advocate

The palate is rounded, almost curvaceous in the mouth...a sense of authority and purpose, a bit of daring-do on the long finish. It leaves a slightly ferrous residue on the aftertaste, completing what is a marvelous and sensual Grand Cru.

95Burghound.com

...an ultra-refined mouth feel to the equally pure, intense, detailed and lilting medium-bodied flavors that appear to possess a bit more volume than usual before culminating in a penetrating and intense finish...

94+ Stephen Tanzer

Wonderfully silky, broad and dry; in a distinctly feminine style, showing lovely defintion and inner-mouth perfume to the flavors of red fruits, savory underbrush and flowers.

18.5Jancis Robinson

Very subtle. Great fan of flavours – very exciting, perhaps more obviously Vosne than the richness of the Richebourg. Lovely stuff. Refined and qute discreet. Very neat. Great balance.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanee, Romanee-St. Vivant

Romanee-Saint-Vivant is a 23-acre Grand Cru vineyard just on the northern edge of the commune of Vosne-Romanee in the Cote de Nuits. The vineyard faces east, has a gentle incline and an elevation of 250 to 265 meters. The soil is clay and limestone. Principal producers of Romanee-Saint-Vivant are Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, with 13.23 acres; Leroy, with 2.48 acres; and Domaine de Corton-Grancey/Louis Latour, with 1.9 acres.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, Grand Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
