RATINGS

93Stephen Tanzer

Very bracing aromas for the year: crushed cranberry, pomegranate, rose petal and pungent minerality. Densely packed and intense, conveying a strong impression of salty mineral lift to its bracing red fruit flavors.

92-94The Wine Advocate

Crisp and focused bouquet, quite mineral-driven with flint and grey slate-like aromas permeating the mainly black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and black fruit....there is plenty of substance on the structured finish

90-93Burghound.com

A highly perfumed nose speaks of a dense and well-layered mix of red raspberry, plum violet, sandalwood, cinnamon... powerful, serious and stony middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a refined, focused and flawlessly balanced finale.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits Villages, Vosne-Romanee, Les Brulees

Les Brulees is an 11.25-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Vosne-Romanee appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Nuits. Though it is divided by a road, the vineyard enjoys both a southeastern and northeastern exposure. Clive Coates calls Les Brulees “wine with backbone, richness and depth in a particularly masculine way.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
