RATINGS

97+ Stephen Tanzer

...dense, creamy and seamless yet almost shockingly vibrant, with outstanding balance and an impression of firm acids...The mounting finish goes on and on. Great wine, perhaps monumental.

96Burghound.com

Seductive grace and purity followed by sweet, understated and vibrant medium full flavors...There is a serenity here that cannot be duplicated and must be experienced...

95The Wine Advocate

An enormously structured (verging on firm) effort, it offers cassis liqueur, spice, black cherry, and plum flavors. Its finish, marked by solid tannin, is impressively persistent.

18.5Jancis Robinson

Extraordinarily opulent, open nose. Very very rich and ripe and absolutely on the borderline of overripe flavours but hugely enjoyable. Slightly brûlée and lots of fine tannins underneath. Quite marked acidity too...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits-Villages, Vosne-Romanee, Romanee-Conti

Romanee-Conti is the most famous vineyard in the world, and certainly the most celebrated in Burgundy. It is a 4.32-acre Grand Cru parcel owned exclusively by Domaine de la Romanee-Conti. The Grand Cru pinot noir produced from the vineyard is one of the world’s most acclaimed wines. Romanee-Conti is a square-shaped plot enclosed on three sides by a stone wall. It is about half way up the slope with an elevation between 260 and 275 meters. The gentle incline makes for nearly perfect drainage and the vineyard receives sun all day. The soil is a sand, clay and limestone mixture.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, Grand Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
