RATINGS

97Jeb Dunnuck

Blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings, chocolate, tobacco leaf, and ample earthy minerality all give way to a powerful, full-bodied 2016 that has plenty of density, ripe tannins, and a big finish.

95+ The Wine Advocate

G black cherries, blackcurrant cordial and licorice scents emerge, backed up by fragrant earth and lilacs notions and wafts of black pepper.... Full-bodied and laden with black fruit and spicy layers, the palate is built like a brick house,

93Vinous / IWC

Powerful, dense and explosive, the Georges III has so much to offer. Readers should expect a potent, virile Cabernet Sauvignon. Scorched earth, new leather, licorice, tobacco, bittersweet chocolate and espresso

93James Suckling

Very plush blueberries on offer here. This has a smoothly cast palate with fine, ripe and even-paced tannins. Good persistence and depth.

United States, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford, Georges III Vineyard

Georges III Vineyard was first planted in 1895 by Napa Valley Pioneer Thomas Rutherford. In 1928 it was purchased by Beaulieu founder Georges de Latour, whose winemaker, the famous Andre Tchelistcheff, used the vineyard to make BV’s Rutherford Cabernets. The 300-acre vineyard is in Rutherford and is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. Beckstoffer Vineyards owns and farms more than 3,600 acres of highly prestigious grape growing vineyards in Napa Valley, Mendocino County and the Red Hills of Lake County. A senior executive with Heublein in the 1960s, Andy Beckstoffer is credited with steering Napa Valley vintners towards improving farming and the quality of the grapes used for wine. Grapes from any Beckstoffer vineyards are considered among the finest available in California.
