RATINGS

96Wine Enthusiast

...incredible aromatics of crème brûlée and brioche, rich, warming characteristics that lead to more mineral-driven elements of oyster shell and stone...a juicy, lengthy and beautifully structured wine, finishing in a swirl of grilled pineapple.

94Jeb Dunnuck

...fresh and vibrant...great nose of buttered pineapple, tart citrus, white flowers, and a kiss of honeysuckle. It's aromatic, has great purity, is medium-bodied, and finishes with bright acidity. In short, it's a terrific Chardonnay...

92The Wine Advocate

...opens bright and fresh with scents of chamomile, quince, dried green herbs, baker’s yeast and a stony note. Light to medium-bodied, it’s bright and lifted in the mouth with fresh fruit character, a silken texture and uplifted finish.

92Vinous / IWC

Lemon oil, white flowers, almonds, sage and mint give the 2018 lovely aromatic nuance to match its mid-weight, gracious personality.

90Wine Spectator

Crisp, with intense, focused gooseberry and honeydew melon flavors, matched to lemongrass accents. The juicy finish features candied citrus notes.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Russian River Valley

Russian River Valley AVA is named for the river that meanders from Mendocino County in the north until it finally runs into the Pacific Ocean north of San Francisco. The AVA is cool thanks to its proximity to the northern California coast and the river, and grape growers must learn to deal with regular fog. Nevertheless in recent decades the AVA has become one of the best in the state, meaning that its wines often earn excellent reviews and have considerable cachet. The AVA status was awarded in 1983 and today the appellation has 15,000 vineyard acres. Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape though Pinot Noir has also been very successful in recent decades. Russian River Valley Pinot Noir are known for being rich, lush and filled with concentrated fruit and berry flavors. Russian River Pinot Noirs are today considered some of the best domestic Pinot Noirs.
