RATINGS

96James Suckling

...very rich white with sliced, dried mango and apple, as well as cooked apples, candle wax and light vanilla. Full-bodied, layered and intense. Big, rich wine, yet remaining fresh and vivid...

94The Wine Advocate

...bold notes of white peaches, fresh pineapple, lemon tart and lime cordial plus suggestions of honeysuckle, beeswax and musk perfume with a touch of wild sage. Medium-bodied and with a beautiful silky texture, the palate is packed with vibrant stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors, sporting a racy line of freshness, and it finishes long with an invigorating lift.

93Wine Spectator

Very alluring, with peach melba, apricot, nectarine and bitter almond notes layered seamlessly on a creamy-textured palate that runs through a long, orange blossom– and white ginger–accented finish. Distinctive and suave in feel.

92Jeb Dunnuck

...bright lemon and white grapefruit notes as well as a kiss of minerality and honeysuckle. It's vibrant and racy, yet beautifully textured, balanced, and unquestionably high quality.

17Jancis Robinson

The oak and the fruit are entwined on the nose to give finesse, with both citrus and mealy oak creaminess. Smells beautifully creamy... Mouth-filling freshness, that creamy texture and a long, pink-grapefruit finish... So fresh on the finish, mouth-watering and with a maritime freshness.

REGION

France, Bordeaux, St.-Estephe

Saint-Estèphe is in the northern Médoc, on the left bank of the Gironde River. Although it has no First Growth estates, its five Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Growth châteaux are notable, and, in recent decades, have become favorites with reviewers and consumers. Some reviewers also note that the appellation is today making excellent Cru Bourgeois wines, which frequently offer good value. There are 3,404 acres of vineyards and a variety of soil types, from gravelly soil to soil with significant sand or clay. The two Second Growth Châteaux in St.-Estephe are Cos d’Estournel and Montrose. The Third Growth Calon-Ségur is widely admired. The principal grapes grown are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
