Rich nose, hints of compost, and definitely going into mature phase. Solid and sturdy and rewarding. Very slightly dusty tannins but excellent balance of fruit and acidity.
This beautifully round '96, made in a very spicy, oaky, tobaccolike style, shows subtle fruit along with menthol and vanilla. Long, persistent and clean finish. Tempting now, but to get the full experience, give it time.
