97Wine Enthusiast

...velvety and lush on the palate with strong bursts of blueberry, blackberry and cassis. Fresh acidity lies beneath earthy shocks of dried herb, clove, nutmeg and a grip of crushed rock, finishing as seamlessly as it starts, in a whirl of dark chocolate.

95Vinous / IWC

Inky red/purplish berry fruit, grilled herbs, black pepper and licorice...tannins are powerful, but all the elements are impeccably balanced...potent and also very elegant.

94+ Jeb Dunnuck

...bouquet of blueberries, cassis, sandalwood, tobacco, and scrub and full-bodied, with ample tannic grip and loads of character.

93The Wine Advocate

...scents of fresh herbs, mint chocolate, cedar, pencil shavings, blackcurrant and baked black cherries plus warm red cherry preserves, crushed stone and leather hints. Medium to full-bodied, it offers a good interplay of spice/herbs with ripe black fruits in the mouth, framed by very ripe, finely pixelated tannins and great freshness to lift the long, concentrated, layered finish.

91Wine Spectator

Breezy cherry, damson plum and pomegranate notes form the fruit profile, with bouncy floral and spice accents. Shows an evenhanded approach to the toast, allowing the finish to sail through.

Founded in 1996, DuMOL is a vineyard focused producer of cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from distinctive vineyards in the extreme southwestern part of the Russian River Valley, focusing on the Green Valley AVA. They also grow and craft small-lot Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Viognier from other exceptional vineyard sites in Sonoma and Napa, expanding upon twenty-five years of winegrowing experience. Winemaker, Viticulturist, and Partner Andy Smith has been with the winery since the beginning and continues to produce highly regarded cult wines. Robert M. Parker Jr. has called DuMOL "a fabulous producer of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and more recently, Viognier and Syrah....Everything produced at this winery is world-class, strikingly intense, complex and elegant."

United States, California, Napa Valley

Napa Valley AVA is the most famous winemaking region in the United States and one of the most prestigious in the world. With nearly 43,000 acres of vineyards and more than 300 wineries, it is the heart of fine wine production in the United States. Winemaking started in Napa in 1838 when George C. Yount planted grapes and began producing wine commercially. Other winemaking pioneers followed in the late 19th century, including the founders of Charles Krug, Schramsberg, Inglenook and Beaulieu Vineyards. An infestation of phylloxera, an insect that attacks vine roots, and the onset of Prohibition nearly wiped out the nascent Napa wine industry in the early 20th century. But by the late 1950s and early 1960s Robert Mondavi and other visionaries were producing quality wines easily distinguishable from the mass-produced jug wines made in California’s Central Valley. Napa Valley’s AVA was established in 1983, and today there are 16 sub-appellations within the Napa Valley AVA. Many grapes grow well in Napa’s Mediterranean climate, but the region is best known for Cabernet Sauvignon. Chardonnay is also very successfully cultivated, and about 30% of the AVA’s acreage is planted to white grapes, with the majority of those grapes being Chardonnay,

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
