RATINGS

95Wine Spectator

Racy and taut, displaying cherry, strawberry, vanilla, toasty and spice flavors. Features an intense core of ripe fruit, with well-mannered tannins and moderate grip on the lengthy, smoke-tinged finish.

88-90The Wine Advocate

...blackberry and raspberry scents, confit cherries emerging with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. It clams up a little toward the second half that is driven by the wood tannins at the moment.

16.5+ Jancis Robinson

Light nose with sweet, ripe red fruits – raspberries? Quite intense with more marked tannins than the village wine.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits Villages, Vosne-Romanee, Les Brulees

Les Brulees is an 11.25-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Vosne-Romanee appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Nuits. Though it is divided by a road, the vineyard enjoys both a southeastern and northeastern exposure. Clive Coates calls Les Brulees “wine with backbone, richness and depth in a particularly masculine way.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
