RATINGS

95Jeb Dunnuck

...a killer bottle of wine..,loads of crème de cassis, earthy spices, cedar, chocolate, and new leather, it has an old school, focused, almost Pauillac-like style, full-bodied richness, and a great finish...

94+ The Wine Advocate

...baked blackberries, blackcurrant pastilles and mulberries with hints of cast-iron pan, garrigue, dusty soil and bay leaves plus a waft of cinnamon stick. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals bright, cheery black fruits complemented by a plush texture and just enough freshness, finishing long and savory.

92Wine Spectator

Broad in feel, with lush blackberry and raspberry sauce flavors rolling through, laced with singed apple wood notes and flanked by a warm loam accent. The fruit lingers nicely on the lengthy finish.

92James Suckling

The super ripe cassis and vanilla aromas pour from the glass of this rich and smooth Napa cabernet. The discreet tannins underline the richness nicely and the finish is long with an attractive, bitter-chocolate quality...

91Wine Enthusiast

Robust in dark cherry-cordial flavor and a taste of sage, this is a powerfully concentrated and boldly ripe wine... Tannins are dusty and substantial, providing structure within the thick concentration.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford, Georges III Vineyard

Georges III Vineyard was first planted in 1895 by Napa Valley Pioneer Thomas Rutherford. In 1928 it was purchased by Beaulieu founder Georges de Latour, whose winemaker, the famous Andre Tchelistcheff, used the vineyard to make BV’s Rutherford Cabernets. The 300-acre vineyard is in Rutherford and is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. Beckstoffer Vineyards owns and farms more than 3,600 acres of highly prestigious grape growing vineyards in Napa Valley, Mendocino County and the Red Hills of Lake County. A senior executive with Heublein in the 1960s, Andy Beckstoffer is credited with steering Napa Valley vintners towards improving farming and the quality of the grapes used for wine. Grapes from any Beckstoffer vineyards are considered among the finest available in California.

TYPE

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
