RATINGS

94+ The Wine Advocate

...notes of honey-drizzled white peaches, pink grapefruit and lemon tart plus nuances of paraffin wax, almond croissant and freshly shaved ginger...palate is at once full-bodied and wonderfully light on its feet, featuring crunchy peach and fresh pear flavors with a racy backbone and oh-so-seductively creamy texture, finishing long and spicy. Gorgeous!

94James Suckling

Attractive aromas of peach, cream, vanilla and honeysuckle...medium-to full-bodied with bright acidity. Creamy and elegant with a long, beautiful finish.

94+ Jeb Dunnuck

...offering a wonderfully complex bouquet of crushed citrus, dried pineapple, white flowers, honeysuckle, and toasted nuts...medium to full-bodied richness...layered, seamless mouthfeel, and a blockbuster of a finish where it shows more and more minerality.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Mount Veeder

Mount Veeder AVA was established in 1993, though its origins as a wine producing district date to the 19th century. A German Presbyterian pastor named Peter Veeder was one of the first landowners in the area, and by 1864 one of his neighbors, a German sea captain named Stelham Wing, was producing wine commercially. The area continued to attract German agricultural entrepreneurs, some of whom established the estate that would later become the Christian Brothers Mont La Salle winery. Today the AVA includes about 1,000 acres of vineyards, most of them at relatively high altitudes. The Mayacamas vineyard, for instance, is at 2,400 feet. Cabernet Sauvignon is the most frequently planted grape, followed by Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
