RATINGS

95Jeb Dunnuck

Exotic pineapple and tropical notes as well as caramelized grapefruit and floral notes all flow to a rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured white.

91-93The Wine Advocate

...lovely white peaches, lemon curd and beeswax notes with hints of orange peel, grapefruit and a touch of sage...palate is light to medium-bodied and bursting with exuberant stone fruit and citrus flavors, with a racy line and a long, peachy finish.

91Vinous / IWC

...creamy and ample in feel. White flowers, apricot, passion fruit, smoke and a range of tropical inflections all run through this textured, exuberant white.

91Wine Enthusiast

Crisp and fruity, with some attractive herbal accents, this wine is lightly tangy. It is full of citrus flavors with hints of minerality. Wood aging gives smoothness to the texture.

17.5Jancis Robinson

Super-intense citrus – pink grapefruit. Smoky, scented richness, full and fragrant with apricot in the mouth. Firmly textured, structured, dense and still so fresh. Very, very long. Chalky depth on the creamy textured finish.

REGION

France, Bordeaux, Pauillac

Pauillac is Bordeaux’s most famous appellation, thanks to the fact that it is home to three of the region’s fabled first-growth châteaux, Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton-Rothschild and Latour. Perched on the left bank of the Gironde River north of the city of Bordeaux, Pauillac is centered around the commune of Pauillac and includes about 3,000 acres of vineyards. The Bordeaux classification of 1855 named 18 classified growths, including the three above mentioned First Growths. Cabernet Sauvignon is the principal grape grown, followed by Merlot. The soil is mostly sandy gravel mixed with marl and iron. Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that “the textbook Pauillac would tend to have a rich, full-bodied texture, a distinctive bouquet of black currants, licorice and cedary scents, and excellent aging potential.”
