RATINGS

96Wine Spectator

A model of ripe, sweet-tasting fruit enveloped in fresh, citrusy acidity. Of medium body, this is a sleek wine, beautifully balanced, exploding with ripe pear, quince, orange and dried herbs.

91Stephen Tanzer

Pure, aromatic, complex aromas of minerals, lemon peel, orange marmalade, acacia blossom, honeysuckle and caraway seed. Juicy and very intensely flavored but rich and broad; a fruit bomb of a Chablis that really expands in the mouth.

88-90The Wine Advocate

...exhibits spicy oak, minerals and smoky hickory aromas and an oily, thick, luscious, extremely ripe yet highly-focused personality packed with citrus and oak flavors.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Blanchot

Blanchot is a 30-acre, Grand Cru vineyard in the appellation of Chablis. It is the most southerly of the seven Chablis Grand Crus, and also faces eastward. The principal proprietors by acreage in Blanchot are Laroche, with 11.25 acres; Vocoret, with 4.25 acres; and Long-Depaquit, with 4.1 acres. Like all the Chablis vineyards, it is planted exclusively to Chardonnay.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, Chablis Grand Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
