RATINGS

92Wine Enthusiast

A racy wine, juicy, fresh and fruity...lively red fruits... There is structure, but it is the delicious fruit that speaks.

91The Wine Advocate

...pungent herbs and accompanied by a tart compote of black fruits...deeply rich cru with its persistent layering of flavors.

91Vinous / IWC

Musky spices, strawberry, cherry and tobacco on the nose. Silky-sweet and dense, with excellent breadth and volume to the suave red fruit flavors. Offers a rather refined texture and finishes with very smooth tannins.

91Stephen Tanzer

Musky spices, strawberry, cherry and tobacco on the nose. Silky-sweet and dense, with excellent breadth and volume to the suave red fruit flavors. Offers a rather refined texture and finishes with very smooth tannins. Very classy Beaune.

90Wine Spectator

Shows nice bright cherry and strawberry flavors, with good flesh and firm tannins. There's finesse and balance, as the finish ends on a sweet fruit note.

16.5Jancis Robinson

Racy and ethereal with great balance and ripe fruit.... Really confident. Very fine on the finish – not bitter at all.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Beaune, Les Greves

Les Greves is a 75-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the central part of the Beaune appellation, in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune. Though Beaune has no Grand Cru vineyards, it has 44 vineyards that are either partly or completely Premier Cru. Clive Coates has written that in the central section of the Beaune appellation is “where you will find the finest examples of premier cru in Beaune.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
