RATINGS

95Robert M. Parker Jr.

A blockbuster for both complexity and intensity... It exhibits an incredibly floral-scented nose along with beautiful kirsch, blackberry, black currant, camphor, forest floor and licorice characteristics, supple tannins, an exuberant, opulent mouthfeel and a full-bodied finish.

94Jeb Dunnuck

Very energetic and vibrant, with more pure fruit and minerality...delivers a core of sweet black fruits that are supported by complementing and complexity adding notes of underbrush, violets, wet stone, smoked leather, and hints of pepper. This medium to full-bodied Syrah has fantastic purity of fruit, a rich, yet awesomely focused texture...

92-94Vinous / IWC

Vibrant aromas of raspberry, smoky minerals, potpourri and cola. Impressively dense and silky, with a surprisingly lacy texture to its red and blue fruit, floral and spice flavors... The spicy finish leaves behind resonating notes of mace, smoky minerals and floral pastilles, with just a hint of dusty tannins.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Syrah (Shiraz)

This grape is grown in milder climates and produces a medium-to full-bodied wine. It is also known as Shiraz, but should not be confused with Petit Sirah, which was developed by crossing Syrah with Peloursin.
