RATINGS

92Stephen Tanzer

Hints of lime blossom and noble herbs. An attractive saline midweight with lovely inner-mouth floral lift; bright acidity frames the lemon zest fruit. This crisp, chiseled wine finishes with noteworthy elegance and lingering perfume

Ripe and fresh nose exhibits a pretty combination of white peach, mandarin orange, anise and floral scents that are trimmed in discreet but not invisible wood...subtle mineral influence to the well-detailed and caressing medium-bodied flavor

90-92The Wine Advocate

A rip-roaring, vivacious, energetic bouquet that is surfeit with energy and frisson—so effervescent. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, very good weight in the mouth, fine tension with a precise and quite sustained finish

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet, Les Combettes

Les Combettes is a 19.4-acre acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. It is on the northern edge of the appellation and borders Meursault. Les Combettes is considered the appellation’s finest Premier Cru, and writer Clive Coates calls Les Combettes “the most complete wine” of the four Premier Cru vineyards in northern Puligny-Montrachet. Les Combettes, he writes, “is a mouthwatering and deliciously elegant combination of Meursault and Puligny, with the steeliness of the latter and the honeysuckle and hazelnut of the former.”

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, 1er (Premier) Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
