RATINGS

92Vinous / IWC

Fruit-driven aromas of peach, apricot, pear and flowers. Then juicy and tight in the mouth, with strong citrussy acidity leavening the wine's mid-palate sweetness. The long, peachy finish shows lovely finesse

91Robert M. Parker Jr.

Slate, crushed rocks, lime, citrus and white stone fruits are woven together in this delineated, vibrant wine... tremendous depth, but here polish reigns supreme. Floral notes add lift and total refinement on the finish.

91Burghound.com

Dried yellow fruit aromas that include lychee nut and spice hints. The middle weight flavors are clean, cool and utterly delicious with a really lovely acid/fruit balance on the powerful, intense and lingering finish.

Rich and lively. Covers all Meursault bases...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Meursault, Clos de la Barre

Clos de la Barre is a 5-acre, villages designated vineyard in the appellation of Meursault, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. It is the monopole of Domaine des Comtes and is entirely enclosed with the walls of the domaine. The vineyard faces east and is on a slight slope, with soil of shallow clay on a subsoil of limestone. “The quality of Close de Barr is outstanding,” according to Robert M. Parker Jr.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
