RATINGS

95Jeb Dunnuck

...offers a full-bodied, rich, powerful style that carries loads of white currant and peach fruits as well subtle floral and brioche notes...blends power and freshness.

92Vinous / IWC

...soft, open-knit and pliant, with lovely pineapple, passion fruit and exotic floral character.

92Wine Enthusiast

A perennial powerhouse white, this delivers gorgeously constructed layers of rich pineapple, guava and mango, complemented by vanilla and baking spice from the oak. A steely midpalate shows bright acidity that lifts the concentration.

91The Wine Advocate

...notions of warm apricots, apple tart and poached pears plus suggestions of pie crust, crystallized ginger and marzipan. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a racy line cutting through the intense flavors, finishing long and creamy.

90Wine Spectator

Sleek, spicy and well-structured, with fresh-cut green apple and lemon-lime flavors supported by crisp acidity. Rich and savory on the fresh finish.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Carneros

Carneros AVA, also known as Los Carneros, is at the southern end of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys at the top of the San Francisco Bay. The 8,000 vineyard acres are mostly planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, both of which thrive in the district’s cool, marine climate. Carneros became an AVA in 1983 and it has attracted foreign wine companies along with local producers. It has been especially appealing to European producers of sparkling wines including the giant Spanish cava producers Codorniu and Frexinet, and the French Champagne house Taittinger. Codorniu in Carneros is called Artesa, and Frexinet’s Carneros brand is Gloria Ferrer. Taittinger calls its Carneros winery Domaine Carneros. The European producers also make still wines in Carneros.

TYPE
