RATINGS

93James Suckling

Lemon and light, grassy nuances lead to a very elegant, direct and smoothly rendered wine… The purity and freshness here is balanced with intensely concentrated, lemon and green-apple flavors. Super fresh.

A sense of translucency gives the 2016 its lifted, gracious personality. Dried flowers, orchard fruit and lime all develop in the glass... This is a gorgeous Chenin...

...offers racy, medium-bodied notes of citrus, white grapefruit, and dried herbs. It’s clean, pure, and has a salinity on the finish that makes you salivate and coming back to the glass.

Crisp and fresh, very good...

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

White Wine, Chenin Blanc

This light-bodied white wine grape has zest and versatility depending on its style. It is grown extensively in South Africa, where wineries produce dry wines. Traditional French Chenin Blancs are sweet. It is closest to Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.
