RATINGS

93Wine Spectator

Firm and compact, with a kernel of citrus, apple and vanilla waiting to be unlocked. Well-balanced, this should fatten up a little with time.

91-94Stephen Tanzer

Complex, vibrant nose combines crystallized lemon peel, pineapple, mint and powdered stone. Round, ripe and seamless but with lovely inner-mouth energy thanks to the chalk and lemon flavors. This has real flavor authority...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Bougros

Bougros is a 35.3-acre Grand Cru vineyard in the appellation of Chablis, on the northwestern tip of Burgundy. The vineyard includes a steep strip facing southwest that is partly owned by William Fevre, and wines from this parcel are labeled as Clos des Bouguerots. The largest landholders in Bougros are William Fevre, with 15.5 acres; Colombier, with 3 acres; and Long-Depaquit, with 1.3 acres. Like all the Chablis vineyards, it is planted exclusively to Chardonnay.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, Chablis Grand Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
